LEXINGTON, Ohio, July 22 - Andrew Prendeville
not only finished all 40 laps of Sunday's Indy
Pro Series race at the Mid-Ohio Sports Course,
but the Morristown, N.J.-based driver duplicated
his best results in this series to date by
finishing fourth in the Best Friends Animal
Society No. 5.
Fans who made donations to Best Friends through
the racinglapsforbestfriends.com website (this
website) have to be pleased with Prendeville's
results. He also posted his best qualifying
result to date in this series by earning the
third starting spot in the preliminary action.
"It was a great weekend; our best yet,"
Prendeville said after the race.

Richard Antinucci, who won the race, and Wade
Cunningham, who finished second, got by
Prendeville at the start to push him to fifth.
But Prendeville was able to maintain that
position lap after lap, even after a restart on
lap 23.
Point leader Alex Lloyd, who led the first 15
laps before Antinucci passed him in the esses,
stopped in turn one on the restart due to
mechanical difficulties, which advanced
Prendeville to fourth place. Prendeville was
able to hold off Hideki Mutoh the rest of the
way to finish the 40-lap race in that position.
It was a much more satisfying result than last
weekend, when Prendeville was involved in a
crash on the initial lap of a race at Nashville
Superspeedway. He drove a predominately black
back-up car at Mid-Ohio while his primary car is
being repaired.
"I don't think I had any contact with anyone
today," Prendeville said. "It was close with
[Bobby] Wilson; I'll have to ask him if we
touched, but I don't think so. We raced hard,
but we've done that so many times before. But
no, I don't think there was any contact.
"They were gaining 10 car lengths on the
straights, and I could pull nine to 11 car
lengths on them in the twisty stuff to keep in
front of them," he added. "The only way that was
possible was because we had a really
good-handling car.
"The start was not the greatest," he added.
"Cunningham blew right by me; that was just a
case of better straight-line speed. But I was
able to make up a lot of the distance, and I
almost got the position back a little later.
"We finished all 40 laps for the Best Friends
Animal Society. We had our best qualifying
result yet, and we duplicated our best race
result. It was a great weekend," he concluded.
The race will be broadcast on ESPN2 on Thursday,
July 26 at 5:30 p.m. Eastern time.
The next event is Aug. 11 at Kentucky Speedway
in Sparta, Ky., near Cincinnati, Ohio. Donations
to Best Friends based on Prendeville's laps
completed are already being accepted for that
event on racinglapsforbestfriends.com.

payable to "Racing Laps for Best Friends" to:

Donations to the Racing Laps for Best Friends
program may be made using MasterCard, Visa,
American Express or Discover credit cards.
Fans donate a set amount of money for each lap
that Prendeville completes in each race. At $1
per lap for the 18-lap races such as the two
Indy Pro Series races at IMS this weekend, the
donation would be $18 per race or $36. If the
car would only complete 10 laps in one race and
five laps in the other race, then the donation
would be $15.
